The North Ridge of Tryfan is a grade 1 scramble in Snowdonia National Park. A perfect place to try out the Sigma Quattro DP2. No comparisons with the Merrill DP3 this time. I left it behind.
All shots taken hand held, ISO 100, in RAW, and post processed in SPP and Lightroom.
Adam & Eve was taken through thick mist. The pano is stitched from two shots.
This wasn’t a photography trip, the main event was scrambling, so shots were composed and taken quickly without much thought!
For me the Quattro performed well; the detail is superb and it has that Foveon look I like. The issues found when post processing were camera shake on some shots at 1/125 and under (but I was breathing hard) and blown highlights. A bit of care is needed to use this camera, and a tripod, but if you do you’ll be rewarded.
The biggest problem is still the speed of SPP.
Now to download latest firmware and version of SPP.
